Colby's Graduation Party

Last Saturday, we went to a graduation party for my cousin Colby! It is hard to believe that he already graduated from high school. I remember holding him when he was just a few days old. This certainly makes me feel old. He looked really good and it was nice to gather with family!

JR is also known as Q-tip....

Another Paul Story

My sweet little Paul is infamous for interrupting people. So, the other day, I was talking to Rob and Paul starts interrupting, so i stopped Rob's & my conversation and said "Paul, you need to wait until we are done talking, OK?". So, he stopped. When Rob & I were done talking I asked Paul what he wanted to say and he says "you messed up my talking" and wouldn't tell me what he was going to say. Ahhhh, that stubborn little boy!

Gish

Last night I spent the evening with Jeni Gish. I met her when I was a senior in high school when I went to visit my brother at the UofI (Go Vandals!). We really clicked and always had a lot of fun together. A few years back right before my 25th birthday (or was it 26th?, maybe not, oh well, who's counting anyways!) she & I went on a cruise on lake cda and had a blast. There were a couple of guys dressed as a penguin and a parrot that decided they should dance with us...random. Anyway, we went on a cruise again last night and had a lot of fun! We ended up having a fantastic time. I wish she still lived close by! Here is a picture of us from last night!

Donnie

Donnie....what can ya say about Donnie? Well, here is a little story about Uncle Donnie. We were in Boise a couple weeks ago and when Evie was napping, Uncle Donnie took the kids grocery shopping with him. And, here is what my kiddos came home with....HOLY CANDY!

Rylee

As all of you know, Rylee got her ears pierced on her 5th birthday...so it's been OVER a year. Well, last night in the tub, one of her earrings fell out. She was certain that in the time it took me to notice, get her out of the tub and clean the earring that her hole had closed up. I guess I forgot to tell her that they won't close up really quick anymore.... She gets so emotional that it's kind of cute, though. By the way, thanks to Grandma Vickie for the new bear paw earrings! :)

Paul, again

The day got much better yesterday as Paul stopped the whole whiney, crying bit. He was actually trying to be helpful when he put vaporub in his hair....right after his bath....

Well, in Paul's defense, he thought the yummy smelling Vicks vaporub was hair gel and he was "fixing his hair" for me. I know, doesn't that just sound yummy???? So, he ended up with a 2nd bath, but still had greasy hair that smelled like, well, Vaporub. Vaporub is hard to get out of hair. My daycare lady suggested using dawn soap...will try that tonight because as of this morning, he still had a grease spot and still smelled....

How can you not love that little monster?????

Paul

Here is a little story from this morning....

Me: Paul, can you please get dressed?
Paul: I want you to heeeeeeelllllllpppp me (in a super whiney voice)
Me: I am making my lunch now, so if you start, I will help you when I'm done
Paul: I want you to heeeeeeellllllllppppppp me (again, super whiney)
Me: OK, I guess if you aren't dressed when we are ready to leave, you can stay home alone
Paul: BUT, I DON'T WANNA
Me: Well, then please START getting dressed
Paul: But, I want you to heeeeeellllllppppp me
Me: silence
Paul: I want to wear my jammies to school
Me: you have been wearing those clothes for a day and a half, you cannot wear them again, now please get dressed
Paul: But I wanna
Me: You Wanna What
Paul: Get Dressed
Me: THEN GET DRESSED
Paul: But, Mom

Seriously, why do I bother????? He did eventually get dressed, but then this scenario happened all over again when I asked him to put his shoes on......ahhhhhhh!!!!!!!

T-Ball Olympics

To end the T-ball Season, Rylee participated in T-ball Olympics on Sunday. The weather held out during the event (thankfully) and Rylee did really well! There were six events (Catching Pop-ups, Hitting the Farthest, Throwing the Farthest, Stopping Grounders, Throwing Accuracy and Fastest Runner from 2nd to Home). They awarded the top 3 in each event for each age group (3 age groups included K, 1st Grade, 2nd Grade). Rylee received awards in 3 of 6 events! She placed 3rd in Hitting the Farthest, 2nd in Throwing Accuracy and 1st in Most Pop-Ups Caught! They gave out the awards at a banquet Sunday afternoon. All of the girls that played T-ball also received a medal for participation! Rylee was so excited!

Here she is getting one of her awards.

Music Program Video

Here is a video from Rylee's music program!

Music Program 2010

On Friday, Rylee had a music program at school. It was called Teddy Bear Tea and most of the songs were about bears....super cute! Papa, Paul and I all made it to her school to watch.

After the program, they had cake for all of us! Here is Paul and David (his friend from the bus stop) waiting in line for a piece!

Playdate at the Park

We actually had a day without rain on Tuesday, so the kids and I met up with some friends from daycare for a playdate (Jesse & Dani and their mom Jennifer). It was really cute watching the boys play together!!!

S'mores

After the kids were done swimming on Sunday, Rob took them fishing and each of them caught some fish! Too cute! Then, they came back for some yummy dinner. Well, Paul had a little bit of a meltdown at dinner so we asked him to go to his room until he was done throwing a fit, then he could come finish his dinner. So, he sat in his room for awhile crying, then it got quiet, but Paul didn't come out of his room. So, eventually I went to check on him and he was fast asleep...out cold. I took off his shoes and covered him up. Poor boy!

Well, there was still some daylight so Rob took his girl fishing (see pict below). When they got back, the wind had finally died down so we had our first roast of the year! Paul didn't wake up until the next morning, so he missed the roast, but below are some pictures of Rylee at the campfire and eating her s'more!!
