Last Day of School

The kids made their teachers a little poem for the last day of school!  It was pretty fun to make!

"Orange you glad it's summer?  Thanks for making me a SMARTIE.  You're a LIFESAVER.  We wouldn't trade you for 100 GRAND!  You are the brightest STAR in the MILKY WAY!  Thank you for everything!
After I picked up the kids from school, they wanted to head straight to the library to get some books.  After that, we headed to JAMMS for some fro yo!!!  Yum!

Gymnastics

A few weeks ago, the girls got to stay after class to play around!  Rylee and 2 girls from her class were all hanging upside down on the uneven bars!  I couldn't pass up the photo op! Katie, Rylee and Kiley

Random Pictures

Rylee and Paul were picking at each other a while back so I made them put on this "Get Along" shirt.  They weren't thrilled.  Then all they could do was giggle and so it worked!!!

Memorial Day Weekend

We spent Memorial Day Weekend out at Diamond Lake as usual!  The kids were brave enough to jump in the water!!!  In the first picture, Rylee is shivering!!

We played with our new toys -- paddleboards!

And of course, some fishing was done!!

1st Grade Puppy Program

The 1st Grade Group at Skyway put on their annual Puppy Program.  They sang a bunch of songs about puppies dressed up as puppies!  It was absolutely adorable!

They came in with their little reading buddy puppies and put them in front of their house (Hutchins Hound House)

Mother's Day 2013

We celebrated Mother's Day at our house this year.  We had a nice laid back BBQ!

Skyway Writing Festival

Skyway had their annual writing festival this spring.  There were 3 authors there to sign copies of books.  The 3rd graders got to read from the books they created during the year.

Here is Rylee and Paul getting a  book signed by Kenn Nesbitt

Rylee's School Projects

Rylee had a few school projects as well.  Her class made this sculpture of the Eiffel Tower out of recycled items.

She prepared her 3rd grade biography report on Betsy Ross which included writing a paper and making a poster.  She did a great job!!!
She also prepared a cereal box book report.  The book she chose was Charlotte's Web.  Here is the beginning of the word search she created for the cereal box.

Paul's school project

All of the 1st Graders had to pick an animal and write a report about it.  They also had to prepare a project to display information about the animal.  Paul chose snakes.  He made cacti out of toilet paper rolls and designed a little shoebox display.  It turned out great!
